Freshman admission
Gaining admission to the UC system requires focused — and early — preparation. Putting students on the right path now will help them avoid surprises later.
Because admission to many UC campuses is extremely competitive, students must fulfill our minimum admission requirements and, in many cases, exceed them by large margins.

Who is a freshman applicant?
A freshman applicant is currently in high school or has graduated from high school but has not enrolled in a regular session at a college or university.
Good to know
If UC campuses receive more qualified applicants than they have room to admit, they'll evaluate students based on a process called comprehensive review.
