Scholarships by Campus — UC Merced

Regents Scholarships

Notification of Awards
Begins April 1.

Academic Criteria
Strength and breadth of academic program, test scores, grades and other academic criteria are considered. Selection criteria vary from year to year depending upon the applicant pool.

Other Criteria
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Other factors considered may include the personal statement included with the application, extracurricular activities, community activities, first-generation college attendance and other indicators of academic excellence and promise.

Supporting Documentation
Applicants will be notified if documentation is required.

Alumni Scholarships

Applicants need not be affiliated with any UC alumnus to apply.

Notification of Awards
Begins April 1.

Academic Criteria
Requires a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Other Criteria
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Must be planning to enter UC Merced full time from a high school or community college in Calaveras, El Dorado, Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare, Tuolumne or Yolo counties. Must have submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and be eligible to receive federal student aid. Must demonstrate financial need.
