UC reaches tentative worker agreements
UC has reached tentative contract agreements with patient care employees and campus police officer unions.
Pending member ratification of its more than 200 members, the three-year contract with the Federated University Police Officers Association includes wage increases of 2 to 8 percent.
The tentative agreement with 11,000 patient care employees represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees is for a total 26 percent increase in wages for eligible employees over the five-year contract.
As of Nov. 4, UC and AFSCME were still negotiating over a contract for 8,000 service employees. Those talks began in October 2007, and the university hops for a settlement to be reached soon.
