UC experts dissect California's biggest challenges

Public financing, energy, drought and housing. Find out what UC faculty experts have to say about these most pressing state public policy issues. Today's Ideas, Tomorrow's Solutions is a panel discussion UC President Mark Yudof will moderate on UC Day in Sacramento March 10. The event is free and open to the public.

Nicole Biggart, dean of the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, will talk about the impact the federal stimulus package will have on California. She is an expert in the role of federal government in innovation investment.

Jay Lund, professor of environmental engineering at UC Davis, will talk about the state water shortage. Lund's water resource management research has recently focused on the future of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Arun Majumdar, director of the Environmental Energy Technologies Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, will bring his expertise in nano-engineering to a discussion of energy efficiency.

James Wilcox, professor of finance at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and an expert on the banking industry, will talk about the housing crisis.
