Why Start With Women?

October 2007 statistics reveal that although women comprise 65% of UC staff, they are only 31.7% of senior management yet hold 66% of administrative positions. It is clear that women are not ascending to leadership at the same level and pace as men.

Other systemwide efforts focused on talent management and succession planning will include both women and men. In addition, institutional changes as a result of this initiative will benefit men as well as women.
