Executive Order 11141—Declaring a Public Policy Against Discrimination on the Basis of Age
Prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of age by federal contractors and subcontractors except upon the basis of a bona fide occupational qualification, retirement plan, or statutory requirement, and requires that federal contractors and subcontractors not specify a maximum age limit in advertisements for vacant positions.
Age Discrimination in Employment Act
Prohibits employment discrimination based on age against employees and job applicants 40 years of age or older.
California Fair Employment and Housing Act, G.C. 12940–12951
Prohibits employment discrimination and harassment on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), marital status, sex, age, physical and mental disability, or sexual orientation.
