Mixed Records

Mixed records are student records that include extensive private, four-year university, technical or foreign coursework in addition to California community college coursework. Students who have mixed records should contact the Admissions Office at the UC campus they are interested in for individual counseling.

If a student with a mixed record wishes to pursue IGETC, he or she must meet the definition of a California community college transfer applicant. The student must have been enrolled at one or more California community colleges for at least two terms (excluding summer sessions); the last college the student attends before admission to a UC campus must be a California community college (excluding summer sessions); and the student must complete at least 30 semester (45 quarter) UC-transferable units at one or more California community colleges.

Coursework completed outside the California community colleges may be acceptable to clear some IGETC requirements (with the exception of IGETC area 1B: Critical Thinking) as long as the community college faculty recognizes the course in question as equivalent to one or more of its IGETC-approved courses.
