Departmental Requirements — UC Davis

A minimum transfer GPA of 2.8 gives students the best chance of admission; they are
strongly encouraged to work toward a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Certain colleges and selective
majors have higher GPA requirements.

COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

Students who wish to major in Landscape Architecture must apply to Pre-Landscape Architecture, and those interested in Managerial Economics must apply to Pre-Managerial Economics. These programs are designed for entering freshmen and lower division transfers.

Transfer applicants to majors in Biotechnology and Viticulture and Enology must have a minimum overall transfer GPA of 2.8. For specific information about required prerequisites for majors within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, refer to the ASSIST website.

Landscape Architecture (Pre-)

Students who wish to major in Landscape Architecture must apply to Pre-Landscape Architecture. A separate portfolio application must be submitted directly to the program in April.

Managerial Economics (Pre-)

Students who wish to major in Managerial Economics must apply to Pre-Managerial Economics. After completing the first quarter at UC Davis, students may petition the department for admission to the major. For entrance to the major, students must complete certain courses with a cumulative grade point average of 2.8. COLLEGE OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

Transfer applicants to majors in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; Biological Sciences; Cell Biology; Evolution, Ecology and Biodiversity; Exercise Biology; Genetics; Microbiology; Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior; and Plant Biology must have a minimum overall transfer GPA of 2.8; a minimum overall transfer GPA of 2.9 is required to qualify for a Transfer Admissions Agreement. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Transfer applicants must have a minimum overall transfer GPA of 3.1 or higher to be competitive. Highest priority is given to transfer applicants who have completed all lower division transfer requirements. Those missing one or two required lower division courses will receive lower priority for admission.
