About This Web Site

This web site provides access to a range of documents developed by the UC Systemwide HIPAA Taskforce to implement the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) at the University of California. Among these materials are guidelines, educational modules in the form of PowerPoint presentations, links to local campus HIPAA efforts and various authorization forms associated with the privacy, security and research aspects of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.

The web site is the result of the UC Systemwide HIPAA Taskforce workgroup effort led by Brian Auerbach and Jacqueline Craig at the University of California Office of the President. Workgroup participants are Mark Askren, UC Irvine, Sam Brown, UCLA, Eva Devincenzi, UCOP, Rebecca Landes, UCOP and Katherine Naughton, UCSD. Raul Torres and Judy Thai from UCOP Information Resources and Communications worked as web developers for this project.
