- b) Internships and Community Service Projects : Applicants must describe specific ways in which the funds will make their internships or community work possible or will enhance the quality of this experience. Relevant travel costs may be included in their application budget. Awardees will be expected to submit a report detailing their experiences and contributions while engaged in their internships or projects.
- c) Academically Related Travel : Applicants must show that their travel is being undertaken in conjunction with their EAP course work or is a demonstrable outgrowth of their courses.
- d) Unanticipated Financial Hardship : Applicants must demonstrate that they have a need for funds to meet genuinely unanticipated expenses such as a personal emergency. 7. Questions and Answers
- Q: May I apply more than once for a grant from the Allan Buch Memorial Scholarship Fund?
A: Yes - Q: When may I apply?
A: You may apply at any time during the year.
- Q: If I am awarded a grant does that decrease my chances of getting another grant later in the year?
A: Not necessarily. The committee will view each application on its own merits, although they will take into account the total amount that a student would receive if all her or his applications were successful.
- Q: If I have a job, does that mean I can’t apply for a grant?
A: Not at all. - Q If I have a job, does that mean the committee will look on my application more favourably?
A: The committee will consider only the persuasiveness of the application, regardless of whether the applicant has a job. - Q: If I’m studying in the Republic of Ireland am I eligible?
A: Unfortunately no.
