Selection Process

The Board of Regents named Mark G. Yudof as UC’s 19th president following a national search. A special committee of Regents was appointed, and during the selection process, the panel invited nominations and conferred with advisory committees representing UC faculty, staff, students and alumni.

The members of the regents’ selection committee were Regents’ chairman Richard C. Blum (committee chair); Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger; Benjamin Allen, 2007-08 student regent; Eleanor Brewer, AAUC president and alumni regent; and Regents Russell S. Gould, Eddie Island, Sherry L. Lansing (vice chair), Gerald Parsky, Norman J. Pattiz, Leslie Tang Schilling and Paul Wachter.
