UC ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AWARD

The University of California has selected the winners of the Larry L. Sautter Award for Innovation in Information Technology.

The awards were announced today (Aug. 8) in San Francisco at the annual UC Computing Services Conference by UC Associate Vice President Kristine Hafner. The recipients received a commemorative plaque and gave presentations about their projects.

The annual award, named for UC Riverside's former associate vice chancellor for computing and communications, presents up to two Golden Awards and two Silver Awards.

This year's winners are:

- UC Davis - Vulnerability Scanning and Remediation System
Golden Award for Best IT Practices in Business Processes and Services

- UC Riverside - Smart Classrooms
Golden Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Information Technology

- Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory - Scientific Cluster Support Program
Silver Award for Achievement in University Computing

UC Irvine - Quick Temp
Silver Award for Achievement in University Computing

The award is open to faculty and staff from all UC campuses, the Office of the President and the three UC-managed national laboratories. Sponsored by the UC Information Technology Leadership Council, the honor recognizes information technology innovations that have the potential to improve UC administrative or academic processes.
