This is a Notice of Meeting of the Committee on Grounds and Buildings of the University of California Board of Regents on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the UC San Francisco-Laurel Heights campus, 3333 California St., in San Francisco.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with public comment, followed by open session.

In the open session, the committee will consider action on a systemwide Sustainable Transportation Policy, which includes guidelines that support sustainable transportation efforts, increase the use of low- and zero-emission vehicles in campus fleets, continue transportation demand management, and develop and implement sustainable transportation guidelines for all UC campuses. The committee will also consider action on budget and capital improvements approval for a UC San Diego management school facility and the UCLA life sciences replacement building, as well as environmental and design approvals for UC Merced’s Sierra Terraces housing project, the UCLA life sciences replacement building, UC San Diego’s East Campus Graduate Housing and the UC Santa Cruz digital arts facility.

Open-session discussion items include design review of the Berkeley campus’ Underhill Parking Facility and Field Replacement, the materials science and engineering building at UC Riverside, UC Irvine’s Engineering Unit 3, and the first phase of the UCSF Mission Bay neuroscience research building, as well as an update on a study on UC building cost reduction opportunities and a review of the UC campus and medical center seismic safety program.
