Several sessions have been added to the University of California Regents’ regular March 13-15 business meeting. The full agenda for the meeting is available at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/regents/regmeet/mar07.html.
On Tuesday, March 13, the UC San Diego Medical Center East Campus Bed Tower item will not be considered at the morning grounds and buildings committee. Beginning at 2:55 p.m., the regents’ grounds and buildings committee will meet in closed session to discuss matters related to litigation on the UC Santa Cruz long-range development plan and the UC Berkeley stadium project.
The regents’ compensation committee will meet in closed and regents-only sessions beginning at 3 p.m. to discuss contract compensation for the head football coach at UC Berkeley, various compensation items for employees in the UC treasurer’s office, automobile allowances for acting chancellors and laboratory directors, appointment of the Associate to the President, a retention increase and stipend for the executive vice president for university affairs, and the annual report on compensated outside professional activities for certain senior managers. The committee will meet to take action on these items in open session on Thursday morning, March 15. Please see the agenda online for more information about these positions.
On Wednesday, March 14, beginning at 2:55 p.m., the regents’ compensation and finance committees will meet in a joint regents-only session to consider the appointment of and compensation for the executive vice president for business operations. The committee on governance will meet in regents-only session beginning at 3:10 p.m. to consider the appointment of a regents’ representative to the California Postsecondary Education Commission and the appointment of members to the new regents’ committee on long-range planning.
On Thursday morning, March 15, beginning at 8:50 a.m., the regents’ laboratory oversight committee will meet in open session to act on the appointment of a new member of the executive committee of the Board of Governors of Los Alamos National Security, LLC. The compensation committee will meet in open session beginning at 9:50 a.m. to act on the various compensation-related items discussed in closed session on Tuesday, as well as on the compensation for the executive vice president for business operations.
