RIVERSIDE (www.ucr.edu) -- The University of California, Riverside has partnered with LatinoGraduate.net to host a live Web cast entitled, “Becoming a Top Scholarship Winner.”
The Web cast will stream live on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at live.ucr.edu starting at 3 p.m. in English and at 4 p.m. in Spanish. The program includes a panel of people from higher education who are familiar with scholarship applications. Viewers are encouraged to call or email the panel with questions about the scholarship process.
According to Armando Sanchez, founder of LatinoGraduate.net, only a small percentage of student applications receive serious scholarship consideration. “With this live Web cast from the University of California, Riverside, scholarship applicants from throughout the nation will have the opportunity to interview scholarship application judges and obtain help that can dramatically increase their odds for success."
Alicia L. Chavez, coordinator of UCR’s Office of Undergraduate Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards, will be available to answer questions, along with several other higher education experts.
“UC Riverside is extremely proud of its participation in this webcast,” said James Sandoval, UCR’s Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs. “Whether or not a student secures a scholarship can often determine whether or not that student can attend a four year school. So we’re happy to help guide students and their parents through the scholarship application process.”
“Becoming a Top Scholarship Winner” is free to anyone with access to a Web browser. For more information or to pose panel questions in advance, please contact Armando Sanchez at (562) 298-2342 or via email at LSACNational02@hotmail.com.
