WHAT
"Global
Health Leadership Forum," an international, certificate-based program
on health management and policy sponsored by the School of Public
Health at the University of California, Berkeley, in partnership with
Cambridge University's Judge Business School. The forum, launched four
years ago with the Center for Research in Health and Economics (CRES)
at the University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain, annually brings
together an international group of high-level delegates from health
ministries, hospital organizations, health plans, pharmaceutical
companies and other health industry groups to discuss which solutions
and innovations are known to best address key health care issues of the
day.

WHO
In addition to expert faculty from UC Berkeley and UCSF, speakers will include:
- Sir Richard Feachem, first executive director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
- Leonard Schaeffer, founding chairman of WellPoint
- Ian Morrison, health care futurist
- George Halvorson, CEO of Kaiser Permanente
Participants will include 25 experienced executives from 19 countries, including China, England, Germany, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Qatar, Spain, Switzerland and the United States.
DETAILS
The
upcoming forum in the San Francisco Bay Area will be the first half of
the full program, which will continue June 7-12, 2008, in Cambridge,
England. Participants will select a project based on "real world"
country or company issues, and work with faculty advisors during the
six month interim between each session.
