The University of California Regents' Committee to Advise the President on the Selection of a Chancellor of the Davis Campus will meet in closed session to discuss matters related to the appointment of a new chancellor on Friday, Dec. 12, at the UC Office of the President in Oakland. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and adjourn at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Larry Vanderhoef, who has been chancellor of UC Davis since April 1994, has announced that he plans to step down on June 30, 2009. Having previously served as the campus's executive vice chancellor and provost from 1984 to 1994, he is currently the senior chancellor among UC's 10 campus leaders. The final year of his 15-year tenure as chancellor is coinciding with the celebration of the centennial year of the Davis campus.
Please note: The advisory committee includes five regents who also serve on the Regents' standing committees on long range planning and on grounds and buildings, which would constitute a quorum of these two committees. No Regents' committee business will be considered at the advisory committee meeting.
