The meeting agenda is available at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/regents/regmeet/feb09.html.

Tuesday, Feb. 3
On Tuesday afternoon, beginning at 2:30 p.m., the Regents' grounds and buildings committee will meet in open session to consider budget, environmental and design approvals for various campus facilities projects (see the agenda for project information). The Regents will also receive the university's annual report on sustainability policies.

Wednesday, Feb. 4
Wednesday's meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with public comment, followed by open session. On Wednesday morning, following a discussion of the UC Irvine strategic plan, the educational policy committee will consider action on the Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan, a new UC student financial aid initiative; a proposal on admissions eligibility reform; and implementation of Senate Bill 1370, which protects advisors from disciplinary actions for content published in student newspapers.

After lunch, the long range planning committee will discuss annual accountability reports on private support and UC's research enterprise. The health services committee will receive a presentation on diversity at UC medical schools. The compensation and laboratory oversight committees will consider action on the appointment and compensation for the interim director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

On Wednesday afternoon, the compensation committee will meet in closed session to consider individual salary actions and other items. Consistent with the Regents' policy, all compensation actions will be discussed and then voted on in open session on Thursday. Open-session items slated for Thursday's meeting will be posted online as early as possible upon the conclusion of the closed committee discussion.

Thursday, Feb. 5
Thursday's meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. with the finance committee meeting in closed session to consider action on legal and real estate matters, followed by public comment and an open session of the finance committee to discuss the governor's proposed 2009-10 budget.

The compensation and finance committees will meet jointly to consider action on a proposed reinstatement of contributions to the UC Retirement Plan. The finance committee will also then meet jointly with the grounds and buildings committee to discuss the formulation of a new UC capital funding strategy.

The compensation committee will also meet to consider action of items discussed in Wednesday's closed session and other senior management compensation matters as well as an amendment to the UC Retirement Plan for modifying the Staff and Academic Reduction in Time (START) Program.
