UC medical centers among nation's best


Four University of California medical centers have earned mentions in U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of the best hospitals in the U.S. Two have been included in the magazine’s "honor roll" of the 21 best overall hospitals in the nation: Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, ranked third; and UC San Francisco, ranked seventh.

The "honor roll" is comprised of hospitals that earned high scores in at least six of the 16 specialties considered for the rankings. UCLA earned 26 in 15 specialties; UCSF earned 21 points in 11 specialties.

UC San Diego Medical Center was ranked within the top 50 hospitals in the following specialties: cancer, kidney disorders, psychiatry, rheumatology and urology. UC Irvine Medical Center was ranked within the top 30 hospitals in gynecology and urology.
