March Madness is a bit more intense on some UC campuses this year, as select teams gear up for the NCAA and NIT basketball tournaments.

In the men's tournament, UC Berkeley is seeded eighth in the South regional and will play against ninth-seeded Louisville Friday (March 19). UC Santa Barbara, seeded 15th in the Midwest regional, goes up against No. 2 seed Ohio State, also on Friday (March 19).

In the women's tournament, 16th-seeded UC Riverside faces top seed Stanford on Saturday (March 20) in the Sacramento region. UCLA, seeded eighth, will face ninth-seeded North Carolina State on Sunday (March 21) in the Kansas City regional.

The opening round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament features UC Berkeley hosting UC Davis on Wednesday (March 17).
