Statement from UC Board of Regents Chairman Russell Gould: 

On behalf of the University of California Board of Regents, I have accepted the resignation of Student Regent Jesse Cheng, who has resigned for personal reasons. Student Regent-Designate Alfredo Mireles Jr., who had been scheduled to assume the voting position at the July meeting, will move into that position immediately.

We thank Jesse for giving voice to the interests of students as both a Student Regent-Designate and Student Regent.
