Nine University of California campuses were included in the 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities, compiled by the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The rankings, released today (Aug. 15), are the center's ninth annual compilation measuring the performance of top universities worldwide.
UC Berkeley was ranked fourth. Also in the top 20: UCLA, 12; UC San Diego, 15; and UC San Francisco, 17. UC Santa Barbara was ranked 33rd; UC Davis and UC Irvine were tied at 48. UC Riverside and UC Santa Cruz were in the 102-150 group (no individual rankings given).
