Young innovators honored

Technology Review has included two University of California professors in its annual list of 35 of the world's young innovators.

UC Berkeley's Pieter Abbeel is known for his novel work in the field of machine learning in robotics — including robots that can fold laundry. UC San Diego's Gert Lanckriet has made inroads in teaching computers to classify music.

Each year Technology Review, published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, honors 35 innovators under 35 whose work promises to change the world. Candidates from across the globe are chosen for tackling important problems in transformative ways.
