Eight University of California campuses made the top 400 list of U.S. News & World Report's rankings of the World's Best Universities.
UC Berkeley was 21st, UCLA 34th, UC San Diego 77th, UC Davis 101st, UC Santa Barbara 118th, UC Irvine 148th, UC Santa Cruz 287th and UC Riverside 325th in rankings published by the magazine.
Six categories were factored into the rankings of the top 400: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, proportion of international faculty, proportion of international students and citations per faculty.
Cambridge University topped the list, followed by Harvard, MIT, Yale and Oxford.
