SANTA BARBARA — The University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) announced last December the launch of five systemwide faculty-led programs for summer of 2012. To broaden access to these innovative programs, the application deadline has been extended to April 13, 2012 and a one-time $200 voucher will be awarded to the first 50 students who sign up.

Thanks to more favorable exchange rates and other factors, the overall estimated cost of each of these five programs has been reduced-in some cases by as much as $1,000. Also in furtherance of its commitment to study abroad for all, UCEAP is making available $10,000 in dedicated scholarships to participants in the 50th Anniversary Faculty-Led programs.

These unique new programs incorporate multiple destinations throughout Europe and the Middle East and were modeled to combine lectures, excursions, and cultural activities. All programs offer UC credit and UC grades, and UC financial aid applies. Programs run between June and August and allow students to earn 9-10 units of credit in only four to five weeks.

To apply and receive complete application instructions, students should initiate a MyEAP account. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For questions and information on how to apply, email Ann Logan.
