In response to Superstorm Sandy, the University of California is extending the fall 2013 application and test score submission deadlines for those impacted by the storm and its aftermath. This systemwide decision applies to UC's nine undergraduate campuses and is part of a larger effort by colleges and universities across the country to accommodate student applicants affected by the storm.

Students affected by Sandy are still encouraged to meet UC's Nov. 30 application submission deadline, but they may be allowed an extension through Dec. 15 with authorization from the UC Application Center or help desk. Starting Dec. 3, students seeking an extension can send an email to ucinfo@applyUCsupport.net from the email account associated with their application. They should include "Sandy extension" in the subject line, and list campuses and majors to which they want to apply in the message body. The Application Center will contact students with information on their extension authorization.

UC also will accept January 2013 SAT & SAT Subject test scores from students who were unable to take the November tests due to the storm. Applicants planning on taking or retaking the SAT or SAT Subject tests in December or January can list the planned test dates on the application and submit their official scores by the end of January. To expedite the delivery of these test scores, UC does not recommend applicants use the College Board's Score Choice function or Rush Score delivery. All official test scores can be submitted to one campus, as test scores are disseminated to all campuses to which the student has applied.
