UC Davis will host a luncheon to honor
about 150 high-school seniors who have received offers of
admission for fall 2002 on Sunday, April 14, 2002. The students are from five schools
in Sacramento, Elk Grove, Stockton and Woodland that have
traditionally sent low numbers of graduates to the University
of California, and their high schools are among those with
which the Davis campus has formal partnerships to help raise
the level of college preparedness and eligibility.

The event
is sponsored by UC Davis' Office of School/University
Partnerships, Early Academic Outreach Program and two other
K-12 outreach programs, and Student Initiated Outreach
program.


The luncheon will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in
Freeborn Hall. During the program, which begins about 2 p.m.,
the students will be called to the podium to be recognized.
