PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISER FOR DEFENSE THREAT REDUCTION AGENCY TO DISCUSS PUBLIC HEALTH THREAT OF BIOTERRORISM
What:
Surveillance, management, and leadership requirements for an "emergency public health response" have not been developed in case of a bioterrorist event. This discussion, titled: "Public Health Implications of a Large-Scale Bioterrorist Event: Requirements for Advanced Surveillance and Response Systems," will define the management requirements and systems architecture required for a public health response where the total population requires services.
The discussion is part of the Chemistry and Materials Science Directorate's symposium series: Frontiers in Chemistry and Materials Science.

Dr. Frederick "Skip" Burkle Jr., senior scholar, scientist and visiting professor at the Center for International Emergency, Disaster & Refugee Studies at Hopkins University Medical Institutions and senior medical and public health adviser in the Advanced Systems Concept Office at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
