UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs Investigators Available to Discuss Trends, Research and Treatment

Clinical and research experts affiliated with the UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP) are available to address issues related to addiction and recovery during the 13th National Recovery Month in September. Experts are available to discuss such topics as substance abuse and women, substance abuse treatment in correctional settings, current research conducted in community settings and trends in drug use, such as club drugs.

ISAP coordinates substance abuse research and treatment within the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital, and the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. ISAP investigators are currently conducting an array of work for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the National Institute of Justice, the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, the US Department of State, the World Health Organization, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the State of California and the County of Los Angeles.

Recognized by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, The Department of Health and Human Services and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency, National Recovery Month is designed to help educate communities that substance abuse is a treatable disease. It also celebrates the successes of individuals who have engaged in treatment and recognizes men and women in the treatment field who dedicate their lives to helping those with addictions.
