WHAT:
The third annual Berkeley Asia Business Conference at the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business will address current topics and opportunities in Asian business.

The event organized by Haas MBA students brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, alumni, graduate students, and international advocates.

WHEN:
Saturday, March 1, 2003.
9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

WHO:
Vivek Paul, vice chairman of global technology solution provider Wipro Ltd. and president of Wipro Technologies, will give the keynote speech on globalization of services.

TOPICS:
Panel discussions will address the following topics:

  • Wireless in Asia
  • Entrepreneurship in China
  • The semiconductor industry in China
  • Product development in India
  • Asian venture capitalists in Silicon Valley
  • Venture capitalists in China
  • Biotechnology in Asia and market entry services
  • Intellectual property in Asia
  • Market entry services for small and medium-sized businesses


A product fair will feature technologies such as Hitachi's Mu Chip, the world's smallest RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) Integrated Circuit, and new games by Sega, as well as computer software, hardware, and telecom services and products by firms including Takara Co. Ltd. and SK Telecom.

UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business. The Haas School is located just off Gayley Road on the east side of the campus, across from Memorial Stadium.
