UC Davis MIND Institute to hold Run/Walk

More than 3,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the 5k, or 3.1 miles, “Run/Walk for Hope. Proceeds will contribute to finding effective treatments and cures for autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Since parents and UC Davis clinicians and researchers founded the UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute in 1998, the Institute has funded more than $6 million on collaborative research projects aimed at understanding or treating neurodevelopmental disorders.

The run/walk will begin with registration at 7:00 a.m. at 49th and 50th streets on the UC Davis Medical Center campus. A grand-opening celebration of the new M.I.N.D. Institute facilities will be held near the finish line, featuring live music by the New Originals, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and other refreshments, door prizes, and activities for children, such as face painting and train rides.
