What:
The Edward Teller Education Center will hold a special open house for members of the community and Laboratory employees. The open house is in conjunction with what would have been Dr. Teller's 96th birthday. Edward Teller died in September, just hours after the education center was dedicated.
During the open house ETEC will announce the establishment of a science award/scholarship in Teller's name for graduating seniors at each of Livermore's comprehensive high schools. The open house will also feature tours and demonstrations.
Who:
Attendees will include Livermore Mayor Marshall Kamena, Lab Director Michael Anastasio, Lab Deputy Directors Glenn Mara and Hal Graboske, and ETEC Director Stan Hitomi.
When:
Thursday, Jan. 15. The open house will begin at noon. The commemoration ceremony and scholarship announcement will begin at 1 p.m.
Where:
This presentation will be held at the Edward Teller Education Center, located across from the UC Department of Applied Science, at the Lab's East Gate entrance off Greenville Road, Livermore.
