Each year, UC Irvine invites the community, alumni, prospective students and their families to visit the campus, learn more about the university — and have fun along the way.

“Celebrate UCI 2004, UCI’s 26th annual open house, continues this tradition from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 17. The event features campus tours, Earth Day festivities, the Wayzgoose Medieval Faire, a car show and children’s carnival rides.

The heart of the celebration is the Wayzgoose Medieval Faire in Aldrich Park, featuring costumed knights, minstrels, musicians and jugglers. More than 100 club and organization booths add to the merriment. Wayzgoose also includes three stages featuring entertainment, and games, petting zoo, pony rides, giant labyrinth, boxing rings and much more. The “Car Show on the Green features classic, antique, hotrod and muscle cars.

Earth Day will include educational booths and environmental displays, Earth-friendly vendors, art, entertainment and electric vehicles. Another feature will be the Dionysus Film Festival, which focuses on social and environmental concerns.
Air traffic reporter Commander Chuck Street will land the KIIS-FM helicopter in front of the administration building on campus at noon.
