UC Day is hosted by the Alumni Associations of the University of California and brings together alumni, students and friends of UC to convey to legislators the importance of the economic, educational, medical and cultural contributions that the University of California delivers to the state. The ability of students to conduct undergraduate research under the guidance of internationally recognized faculty is one of the distinguishing features of a UC education.
As part of UC Day, undergraduate students will display their current research projects at a poster session and discuss their work. The researchers are a diverse group representing a range of disciplines in the arts, humanities and sciences.
Undergraduate research at the University of California prepares students for careers in science and technology, the cornerstones of California's new economy; provides opportunities for students to study first-hand the complex social issues facing California; inspires a new generation of qualified students to engage in the kind of high-level graduate work that ensures continued innovation in California's leading industries; and creates better-prepared teachers who are committed to solving real-life problems in California's classrooms.

- Wednesday, May 26, 3:30-5 p.m., UC Day student poster session. Sheraton Grand Lobby (1230 J St.)
- Wednesday, May 26, 5:30-7 p.m., reception for UC alumni and friends. Sheraton Grand, Magnolia Room.
