Nine-City "UCSD NEAR YOU" Tour Showcases Faculty Experts

Free events offer attendees an opportunity to get behind the headlines with UCSD's nationally recognized faculty and chancellor

Stem cell research, global warming, political forecasting and the 9/11 Commission are just a sampling of the topics that will be presented in nine cities across the country when UC San Diego's renowned faculty members and Chancellor Marye Anne Fox hit the road for the 2006 UCSD Near You tour. In its second year, the March through May events will serve to showcase the university, while offering UCSD alumni, parents and friends a complimentary evening of discussion and networking opportunities.

"The UCSD Near You program presents a unique opportunity to bring the cutting-edge research and knowledge generation happening at UCSD beyond our campus borders," said Chancellor Marye Anne Fox. "We look forward to sharing with our many friends across the country the expertise of UCSD's outstanding faculty and thought leaders regarding issues that affect us all."
