Journalists can now find multimedia resources from UC Irvine online, including video of faculty experts on breaking news and topics including medicine, environment and politics. Through short video clips, the media can view leading researchers sharing their expertise and thoughts on the most critical issues of the day.

This new feature joins the existing multimedia tools available to journalists through www.today.uci.edu/news. On this page, journalists will find:

Experts on Video - www.uci.edu/experts
Complementing an online directory of almost 500 faculty news experts, UCI also is now making available an expert video library of faculty discussing topics ranging from immigration and politics to stem cells and water quality. New experts in these and other categories will be added regularly to the video library.

Video News - www.uci.edu/experts/video_news.php
For selected news releases, video clips and video news releases also will be posted online and distributed to media.

Broadcast Studio - www.today.uci.edu/resources/broadcast/studio.asp
An on-campus broadcast studio is available for live or taped interviews via a fiber-optic line. The studio features state-of-the-art cameras and equipment, professional camera operation and lighting design, and 24/7 availability.

Radio
UCI also maintains on campus an ISDN line for conducting radio interviews with its faculty and experts. The use of this line is available free-of-charge to radio news programs/stations who wish to interview UCI faculty and experts. Use of the ISDN line is subject to availability and approval by the university. For arrangements, call 949-824-6922.

In addition to the multimedia resources listed above, UCI regularly posts and distributes press releases, tipsheets, expert blasts and other resources for the media.
