EVENT:
UC President Robert Dynes will join the Associated Students of University of California, Irvine to support UC Student Voter Registration Week. Scheduled before the Oct. 23 deadline for voter registration, the event is a nonpartisan effort to encourage students to register and vote.

BACKGROUND:
UC Student Voter Registration Week, which runs Oct. 16-23, supports the University of California's federal and state mandates to maximize opportunities for students to register to vote.
President Dynes' visit coincides with an event at UCI's Anteater Plaza to launch a new Web site for the Orange County Registrar of Voters. This event will be attended by the California Secretary of State Bruce McPherson and O.C. Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley. It also will feature music and a "Votemobile" for early voting.
