WHAT: Rosa Rosales, the national president of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), will discuss "A LULAC Agenda for the Nation" at a seminar sponsored by the Center for Latino Policy Research and the Institute of Study of Social Change at the University of California, Berkeley.

Rosales will discuss the LULAC platform and focus on issues most important to Latinos nationwide, including education, immigration, health care and employment. UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgeneau will make opening remarks.

DETAILS: LULAC is the oldest and largest Latino membership organization in the United States. It advances the economic conditions, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of Latinos through community-based programs operating at more than 700 LULAC councils nationwide.

Rosales, a long-time labor organizer, is the second woman to serve as president in LULAC's 75-year history.
