The University of California will host a town hall today (Monday)
at UCLA, convening state policy-makers, educators, community
leaders and other experts to help identify innovative solutions
to California's budget crisis.
The budget forum starts at 1 p.m. at UCLA's Covel Commons. Individuals wishing to attend may find a limited number of seats available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the door. The event will also be audiocast live online.
The forum's participants include: Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle; former state legislator Phil Isenberg; Edward Learner from the UCLA Business Forecast; Renee Boicourt from Moody's Investors Service; California State University Chancellor Charles B. Reed; California Community Colleges Chancellor Thomas J. Nussbaum and UCLA Chancellor Albert Carnesale.
Also, UC President Robert C. Dynes will have a media availability immediately prior to the event.
