The federal judge in the Enron shareholders’ class action suit issued an order today (July 11), to revise the pretrial schedule for the case, setting a new trial date of October 17, 2005. The scheduling order allows discovery to proceed.

The revised schedule was set “to establish a discovery process that is orderly, efficient, focused, and observant of the rights of all litigants” in light of the overriding need for “systematic, nonduplicative, coordinated discovery” in the Enron case, according to the order issued by Judge Melinda Harmon in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
