William De La Peña is is CEO of the De La Peña Eye Clinic in Montebello where he has served as ophthalmologist and medical director since 1984. Previously, he was director of the Department of Ophthalmology for Santa Marta Hospital and Doctor's Hospital of Santa Ana. He also was an instructor of ophthalmology for the University of California, Irvine and an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, San Diego.In Latin America, he has been a pioneer in training more than 2000 surgeons in innovative techniques used in the removal of cateracts. Dr. De La Peña received his bachelor's degree at the American School Foundation in Mexico City and his M.D. degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara. Dr. Del La Peña also serves on the Board of Regents for the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. Dr. De La Peña was appointed in 2006 by Governor Schwarzenegger to a 12-year term.
