Mr. Rubenstein attended University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He subsequently pursued his graduate studies at University of California, Berkeley where he studied in the MBA-JD joint degree program established by the School of Law and the Graduate School of Business Administration. He graduated from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law with his Juris Doctor degree in 1969.
Following graduation, Mr. Rubenstein began his legal career in 1970 in Contra Costa County where he has been continually engaged in the private practice of law for the past forty one years. His clients are primarily small, closely held businesses and he specializes in transactional work.
Mr. Rubenstein is presently in his seventh year of service upon the Board of Directors of the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association, having recently completed a two year term as President of the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association. He also serves as a Trustee of the UC Santa Barbara Foundation. and is currently the Secretary of the Alumni Associations of the University of California. He serves as Alumni Regent-designate for a one-year term commencing July 1, 2011.
