Welcome to the UC Staff Advisors to The Regents website!
The UC Regents' continuing goal is to foster two-way communication between UC staff and the Board. In January 2007, The Regents voted unanimously to establish positions for two Staff Advisors to participate in the deliberative process and to provide a staff perspective. This website serves as a mechanism to inform the Staff Advisors, who in turn bring cogent issues to the attention of the Regents. The Staff Advisors make every effort to avail themselves to you through campus visits, presentations at system wide staff forums, release of topical reports, via their respective email addresses, and by constantly updating the site with new information.

Stand Up for the University of California
Since 1990, the state’s share of educating each UC student has fallen by more than 50 percent. The 2011-12 Governor’s pending budget proposes a $500 million reduction in support to UC. This is 22.5 percent below the state investment made in FY 2007-08 and is equal to the state funding received in the 1988-99 fiscal year when UC served 73,000 fewer students. The proposed cuts severely threaten the university's commitment to quality, access and affordability.
It is vital to the future of UC and the state of California that a stable, long-term budget be set for UC. A strong, viable higher education sector provides direct employment to thousands of staff and faculty, creates spinoff companies that create jobs in the community and trains California’s future workforce. Stand up for UC. More information on how to be a UC advocate.
