Biography
Dave Miller was the first appointed Staff Advisor to The Regents, and the only one to serve a two-year term in the role. One of the highlights of his term was being appointed by then Board Chair, Gerald Paskey, to serve on the UC Diversity Study Group in 2007. Mr. Miller currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Chancellor at the UC Los Angeles campus. He came to UCLA in 1994 with twenty years of experience in the private sector. He has worked for companies such as Bankers Trust, Pacific Telephone, AT&T, Motown Record Corp., Diana Ross Enterprises, and 20th Century Fox Music Publishing. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Miller was Client Services Manager at UCLA Communications Technology Services. He has served as UCLA Staff Assembly President in 2002-2003, and was elected to serve as Chair of the Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) in 2004-2005. Mr. Miller was presented with the first ever Excellence In Service to the UCLA Campus Community Award by then Chancellor Albert Carnesale in 2005. Most recently, he was honored with the UCLA Staff Assembly President's Award in 2009.
