UCUES demonstrates the impact of the students' academic experiences on their self-reported gains in college-level academic and life skills; shows the extent to which students engage in academic risk behaviors and show additional effort in their studies, including participation in research activities; demonstrates types of learning activities required in courses including collaborative learning and critical thinking; records time spent each week on studying, attending class and working; and provides reasons upper-division students selected their particular majors.
