Who's looking out for your health?

UC operates the nation's largest health science and medical training program with more than 13,000 students. Among them are many of California's future doctors, as UC educates about two-thirds of the medical students in California. UC-based training and research provides the most advanced medical care available, educates health care professionals to deliver quality care in various settings, translates medical discoveries into new treatments, and cares for a large portion of California's uninsured. UC is the fifth-largest health care delivery system in California with five medical centers that provide care through more than 3.6 million outpatient visits a year. UC also administers state-funded health research programs on AIDS, breast cancer, tobacco-related diseases, and many more.
