Transfer Opportunities
Many veterans start their path to UC by enrolling at a California community college, with the goal of transferring into one of our four-year bachelor’s degree programs. If you are considering applying to UC as a transfer applicant, you’ll need to do three things: meet the eligibility requirements, prepare for upper-division study in your chosen major and, as appropriate, complete a set of general education requirements. Once you’ve prepared to transfer, be sure to apply for admission and financial aid by the priority deadlines.
- Transfer Admissions
Before you consider applying to UC, be sure to explore all the resources available to you on our Admissions website. There, you will find information on selecting campuses, applying to UC, financial aid and scholarship opportunities. - UC Transfer Website
The UC Transfer Website explains what you'll need to do to transfer and how you can make smart course choices now that will maximize your chances of being admitted to UC. If you currently attend (or plan to attend) a California community college, be sure to visit the Transfer Center at your college and meet with your counselor regularly. - ASSIST
ASSIST details each California community college’s transferable course agreement with the University, specifying which courses earn UC transfer credit. The website also has information about credit for general education and major preparation requirements. - Apply to UC
Not every student can be admitted to his or her first-choice campus. Applying to more than one campus can significantly increase your chances of being admitted to a UC campus. To make it easy for you to apply to more than one campus, we have a single application. Application filing periods are listed on our website. - Paying for UC
The University of California offers financing options for students at all income levels, and nearly two-thirds of our undergraduates receive some form of financial aid. This website provides information on the cost of attending the University, the types of financial aid available – including grants and scholarships – and the process for applying for aid.
