Fall 2009
All campuses are accepting applications for fall 2009, but not all majors are open to all applicant categories. See open/closed majors for restrictions.
If you don't have reliable Internet access, you may request a paper application by sending an e-mail to ucinfo@ucapplication.net. Include your name, mailing address, the term you are applying for, whether you're a freshman or transfer applicant, and the reason you can't apply online.
Winter/Spring 2009
All University of California campuses are formally closed to all applicants for the Winter 2009 Quarter/Spring 2009 Semester. However, special programs (NROTC, EOP, Academic Re-Entry, Veterans, Handicapped, etc.) may be open at some campuses. Please inquire at the program office at the individual campuses.
Browser Recommendations
The application functions with Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 5.0 or 6.0 (Windows SP1), Internet Explorer 7.0 (Windows XP SP2), Safari (Mac OS X) or Netscape 7.1 (Mac OS 9). You can download the latest versions of these browsers from the list below.
JavaScript
The online application uses JavaScript web page functionality. Make sure JavaScript is enabled on your browser.
Pop-up Blockers and Other Browser Features
Much of the online application also uses pop-up functionality. If you use pop-up blockers, be sure they are disabled before you begin.
You should also disable any special features (such as Yahoo Parental Controls) or adware or spyware programs on your computer (such as FunWebProducts) before you enter the application.
If you are using Internet Explorer and you are unable to disable the features listed above, we recommend you download and install the Firefox browser and use it to access the online application.
Security
Because it’s important to protect the information you provide, the online application is highly secure. Often, older browsers are not equipped to handle our level of encryption. Please download one of the browser versions listed above to get secure access.
