The University of California is committed to cultivating a more diverse student body, one that reflects the state’s diversity. To support this commitment, UC Diversity and Engagement works to increase the number of students emerging from the California K–12 pipeline with the academic preparation needed to be UC-ready. This dashboard depicts how California students of different ethnic backgrounds are represented in milestones along the path to UC.
In the last 10 years, the presence of underrepresented minority (URM) undergraduates, especially Hispanic/Latino(a) students, at UC has expanded significantly. However, the post-graduation patterns of the state’s URM high school students show a disparity among students from certain URM backgrounds, with regard to those who reach UC.
