As a prestigious research university, UC attracts talented high school graduates and transfers to foster their academic development by offering them various opportunities of working with and learning from world-class researchers. According to the 2014 UC Undergraduate Experience Survey results, most students feel it is important to go to a university with world-class researchers as well as learn and participate in research. About 85 percent of the survey respondents reported to have completed or are participating in at least one research or creative activity with faculty. In general, students are satisfied with the research opportunities UC has to offer. Over 40 percent of the 2014 survey respondents expressed their aspirations to enroll in graduate school after graduation, which implies their further research interest.
